Abstract

The changing role of a library presents numerous challenges in differnet directions. Users of information resources become more and more demanding. 24x7 access to online library resources is a major advantage, but in most cases this remains limited to the physical location of the institution due to access being limited to certain IP addresses. Providing users with sets of passwords to allow for access e.g. from home implies lots of administrative efforts as well as security threats. May library users be provided with remote access to online and CD/DVD resources in a user-friendly way while fulfilling the library's copyright obligations at the same time? AiP now offers solutions from H+H Software that provide libraries with a tool to comply to all the above requirements - and more.
