Database METAL - history of its generation and peripetia of continutation. Past
and current activities of Informetal. Results of the project of Ministry of Education. Impacts of privatisation and
restructuring of Czech metallurgy on services of scientific and technical information. Possibilities of international
collaboration. Possible outlooks.

About the author: |
Author has been working in the field of scientific and technical information
for metallurgical industry since 1972. Since 1980 he leads Informetal, first as a part of the Iron and Steel Research
Institute, nowadays as independent interest association.
