Abstract: |
Present changes within the society and the changes of the functionality of
particular institutions have not let the public libraries without an affect. Although the original library service has
been widened, the main goal of libraries as the providers of information is still the same. The Ministry of Informatics,
Czech Republic would like to take advantage of their potential by implementing the Portal of Public Sector and lay hold
on highly skilled staff as the contact points of e-Government with the aim to come closer to the public. Crew, thanks to
their professionalism and to the librarian equipment, can provide electronic public services on a high quality level. At
the same time they can also be helpful while creating and filling the meta-information system of information sources
within the public bodies.
