De Gruyter has been synonymous with high-quality, landmark publications in the humanities and natural sciences for more than 260 years. Academic publishers such as De Gruyter have recently been faced with new challenges caused by the considerably increasing demand of eBooks. This presentation will give a short analysis on the latest developments and describe De Gruyter’s activities in meeting the requirements of the market. Special emphasis will be made on the most recent innovation: the newly launched De Gruyter e-dition programme.
