The Emergence of the Specialized Digital Library of the National Film Archive in Prague [contribution]

Abstract

Presentation of The Project of the Library of the National Film Archive in Prague of Preservation of Engangered Documents and Their Accessing in New Forms (I.(2001), II(2002). III.(2003), IV.(2005)V.(2006) – VISK 7 (Kramerius).

This paper summarises quinquennial work (2001-2006) at preservation microfilming a preservation digital reformatting of endangered documents from collections of the library of the NFA and describes the emergence of the specialized digital library, which in present contains more than twenty titles of film-journals and which will be exteneded in the near future. Concentration of these documents (predominantly factual and information bulletins, newsletters, press reports, film survey) and their transformation to digital library as an integral whole have been laid foundations for peculiar "Chronicle of the Czech Cinema".

About the author

Head librarian in the National Film Archive in Prague. She concentrates on the library information system of the NFA and disclosure of information and collections (IPAC, JIB, information resourses for film science research, digital library of film journals). She participates in work (sections - sources, awards) of multivolume publication of the NFA Czech Feature Film. In the period 2001-2006 she is a researcher of these projects:
