Abstract
Electronic books are older than the web, but they are finally achieving widespread acceptance. In January, the world’s largest bookseller reported that eBook sales were up by 70% in 2012. Clearly they are here to stay. But do eBooks change everything, or are they just the same as the print book in a different format? What opportunities do they present? What enhancements can we expect as the technology matures? How are publishers going to take advantage of the medium? Digital versions of print books are merely the first step in a major transformation of how we tell stories and provide education to learners of all ages. As a publisher who is passionate about teaching, learning and research, Seth shares his perspective on what is happening now in the world of eBooks and projections for what we can expect in the future.
