The National Library´s Experience with EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS)

Abstract
EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) was purchased by the National Library in the year 2012, a trial in a length of approx. 6 months preceded this decision. Paper descibes all necessary steps made by the National Library in order to set up EDS trial and regular access to EDS after that. Selection of local sources integrated into EDS, demands on cooperation regarding local sources, information on NL´s collections in EDS and tuning of its presentation, selection of licensed sources made accessible via EDS interface, usage statistics etc. will be mentioned.

Karolína Košťálová works in the National Library as a head of Reference and ILL Services Department. She is focused mainly on field of reference services, e.g. Ask your library, also takes part in Uniform Information Gateway project. Petra Šťastná works in Periodicals Department of National Library. She is focused mainly on sphere of electronic journals. She takes part on ensuring of availability of electronice information sources in NL.
