Abstract
The Medvik portal, using central index, provides access to catalogs of libraries integrated in the Medvik system, to Bibliographia medica Czechoslovaca (BMC) database and personal and subject (MeSH thesaurus) authority files from biomedical disciplines. BMC is a bibliographic, partly full-text database, that is created in the National Medical Library (NML). Medvik portal architecture is open for indexing robots, as evidenced by the high access statistics and increased feedback from authors of articles indexed in BMC in the last 2 years. NML has expanded the portal services and tools through the project supported by Internal Grant Agency (IGA) of the Ministry of Health. Part of the project solution is a tool for automated acquisition and import of records from PubMed to BMC. The portal can thus use the PubMed identifier (PMID) for displaying the number of article citations, and links to related articles using APIs of Web of Science and Scopus system. The Impact Factor development graph can be shown at a journal record using Journal Citation Reports through the same service API. BMC records were supplemented by the IGA project identifiers that now allow searching for a given project publishing output and linking to the Central Register of Projects. Part of the solution is to develop a functionality for auto-archiving of pre- and post-print papers in the Digital Archive of NLK with options to set up the level of access and public license using Creative Commons. The functionality should give authors the options for editing and possibly enriching of identified personal authority record with the researcher identifiers followed by a link to the relevant register.
