Abstract
The Internet has become very important in lives of many people who use it daily to find various information. Not many users have had an opportunity to learn systematically what the internet is and which resources can be found there. STM portal is dedicated to information resources relating to science, technology and medicine. The goals of STM portal are to make orientation in these resources easy and provide access to them from one point - the portal.
STM portal includes licensed information resources accessible in the Czech libraries and links to other subject gateways and resources on the Internet that satisfy certain quality criteria.Licensed information resources are recorded in the database "STM Catalogue" that enables searching and provides data about resource availability.
STM portal was launched in September 2003. Data are regularly checked and updated and tools are further developed.
