Abstract
Our poster is going to introduce mobile apps for the Kramerius digital library which are developed by the Moravian Library in Brno. Today we can see many possibilites for data presentation. It’s usual to own smartphone or tablet with Android, iOS or another operation system.
Why not to provide access to libraries’ digital data in this way? Kramerius version 5 has brought an enhanced application programming interface (API) which provides Kramerius functionality and data to external applications and enables for apps to replace the traditional digital library interface while still conforming to the Czech copyright law requirements.
Thanks to that the Android app for Kramerius was developed in 2014 and 2015. The app is now fully usable and freely available from Google Play Store with 17 libraries’ Kramerius digital libraries.
The iOS app development started last summer and the first beta is available in Apple App Store since February. Both mobile apps aim to be fully functional alternatives to the web interface of the Kramerius digital library system and are designed to work on phones as well as tablets.
Poster will bring more information about apps, how to get them and also how to give us feedback for their improvement.
