Josef grew up in Uherské Hradiště, the picturesque capital of the grape-rich region of Slovácko. The grape metaphor has been characteristic of his life ever since.
Having planted a seemingly shallow root, he set forth his ever wandering tendrils into the big world of Moravia, spent his flowering years studying at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University, Brno, only to root deeper into all layers of life as a teacher at a local grammar school back in Hradiště.
Faithful to the grape metaphor, he matures with age and offers his best working fruits so far at the Scientific Information Centre – Medical Library at the Tomas Bata Regional Hospital Inc., Zlín.
As wine is inseparable from bread – try attending a wine tasting event on an empty stomach – he has been given his own daily loaf in his wife and children.
