Abstract
KALIKO (regional catalog of Liberec, Czech Republic) was launched on March 1, 2012. Four public libraries cooperate on it – Research Library in Liberec; University Library, Technical University of Liberec; Medical Library of Liberec Regional Hospital and library of State District Archives Liberec.
KALIKO works on system Primo from Ex Libris and server of company Multidata Prague. It uses the standard search platform of Primo, which is divided into 3 collections (all, libraries, electronic resources). Annotated print screen is addend for feedback. KALIKO runs the Czech, English and German language versions and the version for mobile phones too.
All records of the participating libraries from three different library systems are exported to KALIKO. Records are deduplicated and linked to parent library catalogs. In KALIKO there are selected free or paid electronic resources (Kramerius, Manuscriptorium, ANL +, etc.) added too. Data is updated once a month or once for two weeks.
In KALIKO it is not possible to extend a loan or book documents.
Google Analytics and internal Primo statistics are used for data collection.
The library of the Northbohemian Museum agreed to participate in the project and we negotiate with Hochschulbibliothek Zittau / Görlitz (Libero system). Only one public library in Liberec refused to participate. Test version of KALIKO will be operational by December 31, 2012.
