Abstract

Google has it, and so has Bling and other web search engines – a unified index, and it gives them speed and superior relevance ranking. The unified index with web scale size has now also arrived in the library search space making the information retrieval experience much faster, smoother and more reliable than before. The talk will examine the architecture of a pure unified index and look at its strengths and perceived weaknesses.
