Abstract
PTF CU is a subscriber of several electronic book collections. The contribution focuses on a practical use of ebooks on PTF CU. It compares the coverage of ebooks and the printed collection. The statistical usage is presented aswell. A small probe into abroad experience is considered which show that the import of bibliographic records of ebooks into library catalogs improves their usage. We can meet a refusal or record import in the Czech Republic. The problem is seen in the access points and their incompatibility with the national authority file. We ask questions about the subject access in the Czech language too. The contribution touches therefore the theoretical problem of an imported bibliographic record of an ebook and the goal of a library catalog in the heterogenous environment of electronic information resources and its marketing potential.
