Abstract

The central concept of this paper is the Greek word syn-ergazomai – to co-operate. The university library is a space of synergy of academic community and library staff. In the three theses, we will try to describe the joint effects academic libraries and universities. We will introduce the marketing tools that the library uses for supporting the EIR, implementing modern information technologies and building a digital space to share information. The innovation of a cooperative system of electronic services and tools, which is greatly emphasised by the library, is conditioned and influenced by the feedback of library users.

Library-information support of fields of study and research at CTU from the viewpoint of synergy for the development of the university will be described on the example of IEEE/IET digital library, which belongs to the world's most important resources for technical and computer science fields and which is available for the 10 universities and two institutes of the ASCR due to the support of INFOZ programme.

Implementation of advanced tools and services, creating a platform for sharing verified (guaranteed) information in the interdisciplinary university environment. The library needs to address issues of cooperation in the context of the current requirements of the whole academic community and to create a strong and effective space for cooperation with regard to the synergistic effect in the area of strengthening the education and research support.

Innovations in the offer of services for university academic staff in R&D support, building a repository to store and access information related to the open access to the published results of their scientific work, and thus strengthening the synergy of science.

Mgr. Ilona Trtíková

Ilona Trtíková has graduated in Librarianship and Information Studies (Charles University Prague) and nowadays continues with her Ph.D. studies at the same institute. She works at the Czech Technical University in Prague – Central Library since 2002. Her main professional interests are: electronic information sources ,webdesign and information support of research and development.
