Ikaros (an electronic journal about the information society) started as a student activity at the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship (Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague) in early 1997. The first issue was published on 14th April 1997. Since November 2000 Ikaros has been published by Ikaros, o.s. (a civic association). The journal content focuses mainly on librarianship, information science, new trends in information industry and new media.

Inflow is an online magazine launched in 2008. This non-periodical e-zin is published under supervision of Faculty of Arts (MU), Division of Information Studies and Library Science (DISLS) in Brno. The wide range of authors is able to publish in the „Article“ section – both specialists or experts and students whose seminar papers or theses are at a high level. The editorial staff prepares scholarly articles, reports from conference or interviews with interesting people. Community spirit of the Inflow is supported especially by blogs and photo section where students, staff and graduates of DISLS publish their thoughts and views.

ProInflow is a peer-reviewed journal. It was founded in 2009 by the Division of Information and Library Studies at the Masaryk University in Brno. One of important activities of AiP Beroun is participation in EU projects. Significant has been the technical management of the European aggregating project, ENRICH. Currently it is technical coordination of ETNOFOLK project. AiP Beroun also provides its partners with a solution for presentation of their data (not necessary results of digitization projects) – GULLIVER.

Cosmotron was founded in 1992. The company is specialized in development of information systems. Dynamics and growth of the company was in 2008 attested by quality certificate according to ISO 9001. Major product is the software Advanced Rapid Library (ARL). ARL is determined for automation and administration of libraries, museums, galleries, archives and information centers. Another domain includes identification systems – bar codes and RFID technology – for library use. Also advisory and analytical services, installation, inplementation, permanent support and next development guarantee are provided. Organizations of various orientation and dimension are the company clients. The part of the services involves products for the protection of library fund and additional bar code services.

KP-SYS, spol. s r.o. (Ltd.) was formed in 1995 and up to now the company has no foreign share. Since the very start of its existence the company has been dealing with the development of systems for libraries of any size, school or private ones. The first automatized library system was developed in 1996 in cooperation with the Institute of IT and Libraries of the Faculty of Philosophy UK in Prague. The original library system KP sys (DOS) and KP win ceased to meet today’s IT trends as well as library trends after some years. For those reasons a modern integrated modular system KpwinSQL (2006) and a new product of Verbis (2010) were created. Both of them are being used by more then 300 Czech libraries and IT centers.

LANius Ltd. was founded in 1996. The company is specialized in development of information systems for libraries. Main product, Library information system Clavius has been developed from 1999. In present time this system is widely implemented in more than 2500 libraries in Czech Republic and Slovakia. Library system core application works on the Windows operating system and interacts with SQL database and web server. Our new OPAC 2.0 Carmen has been developed in 2010. Now, we are preparing new generation of library management system Tritius fully accessible by Internet and Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology as innovative elements of library processes automation.

Suweco is one of the biggest central European suppliers of scientific information sources of all types and forms, from the printed books and series to electronic information sources provided to institutions within consortium. We manage and administrate the biggest Czech and Slovak consortiums for access to top scientific information sources.

We help to arch over and make accessible the infromation science and research structure by the key scientific information sources.

SVOP Ltd. was founded in 1991. Main product, LIS DAWINCI, was enhanced by other own technologies. This is mainly system for plagiarism detection (based on fulltexts comparison and searching for similarities) and technology of fulltext search in a large volume of data. Company also contributes to solutions of projects in education, science and research with ME SR, CVTI SR and university workplaces.
