Abstrakt:

ebrary® has developed a flexible e-content platform that currently offers a growing selection of more than 170,000 e-books and other titles from more than 350 leading publishers and aggregators. We will demonstrate our key benefits and features, including: •Affordable and flexible pricing: subscription, purchase or a combination of both •New and improved user interface that offers chapter ranking of search results, personalized bookshelves with folders, and other new and enhanced capabilities •QuickView™ allows you to view a book within the main browser •A choice of ebrary Reader™--Plug-in or Unity—for advanced functionality such as copy and print with automatic citations, highlighting and annotating, and taking notes •InfoTools allows you to link from any word in the text of a book to your library’s other digital knowledge resources such as dictionaries, reference works, journals and OPAC •Access to eBOP, the ebrary Book Ordering Platform that lists all available titles, gives you the different access and pricing options, and links to the full content, allowing you and your colleagues to recommend books to each other and make informed buying decisions •Possibility to use ebrary’s integrated platform for your own PDF content, as a hosted application or licensed toolkit: upload your institution’s theses, dissertations or any other digital content that you have the rights to and allow users to search it with the same ebrary technology

O autorovi:

Romy has been working in the Online Publishing industry for 3.5 years and developed a keen interest in e-books. She started off in the Online Products department at Oxford University Press before moving to ebrary in 2008, filling the new position of Regional Sales Manager – Europe. In her current role, she helps ebrary’s European resellers to understand the ebrary technology and content, and promote it to their end-users. Originally from Luxembourg, Romy is fluent in Luxembourish, German, French, Spanish and English. She is currently living in Glasgow, Scotland, and travelling throughout Europe. She has a MA (Hons) degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Glasgow, and a postgraduate MA from the University of Warwick. Her interest in electronic resources started during the “Literary and Linguistic Computing” course at Glasgow University, which introduced her to different ways of using computers in research.
