Abstract:
The aim of the paper is to inform on goals and intentions of the national project, which is being realized in the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information in Bratislava within the information support of research and development in Slovakia. The project is funded by the ERDF.
About author:
prof. RNDr. Ján Turňa, CSc. He graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava. In the 90’s he was acting as a visiting professor at universities in Paris and Los Angeles. He is a member of Scientific Board of Comenius University in Bratislava and a Chairman of the Slovak Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Delegate of the Slovak Republic in a Working Group on Building the European Knowledge Based Bio Economy supported by the European Commission. He is a co-author of several monographies, university textbooks and patents. His professional interests include first of all biotechnology, molecular biology and bioinformatics. He works as a pedagogical and research worker in the area of natural sciences, biotechnologies and biomedicine. At present he acts as a Director of the Slovak Centre of Scientific and Technical Information in Bratislava and a head of a national project financed by the ERDF- National Information System promoting Research and Development in Slovakia – Access to Electronic Information Recources.
