Abstract:
The guide represents a Czech version of an English original European information: a guide to official sources written by Patrick Overy, information specialist and academic consultant of the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. The printed version of the guide was published by the European Information Association in 2005. It has been translated and processed electronicly with a kind permission of the author and updated according to the situation at the end of 2008 in cooperation with the author, who also agreed with presentation of the Czech text by the National Library of the Czech Republic. For this purpose the text has been divided in two parts published in an electronic periodical Knihovna Plus in 2008 and 2009. The text is intended to be a practical guide for anyone who needs to find official information, whether printed or online, about the European Union and their activities. It contains about 800 links to websites and electronic products of individual institutions and their sections, to thematic portals and individual documents, too.
