Abstract:
CU Academic Library provides access to scientometric information resources and about 42.000 scientific, respectively professional electronic books and 43.000 full-text journals. In the time being, scientometric databases are used more and more also by librarians, especially in connection with the building of Central register of publication activity which, inter alia, servers for calculation of budget grants for public universities. Usage of full-text external information resources is, in a high degree, related to information literacy of users and also to branch of science (natural sciences vs. arts and humanities). A motivation to use EIZ should not be limited only to determining of suitable information resources as an input for research and education, but it should also include the identification of proper publications for publishing of the outputs. CU AL realizes further education oriented on EIZ, tries to increase usage of EIZ and to build circle of permanent EIZ users especially from among postgraduate students (EIZ use – component part of education process). Better information about EIZ could be reached not only by building of portals, but also by interconnection of EIZ with local online catalogs.
