This article explains the principles of internal and external marketing in terms of the internal and external environments of libraries and information centres.
The analogy of marketing principles that are developed in detail and implemented in competitive environment of business entities not only can, but must be applied in the field of library and information services, taking into account specific features of this environment.After finishing her studies of macromolecular chemistry at the Slovak Technical University she started to work at the Man-Made Fibres Research Institute in Svit on the development and application of physical methods for evaluation of polymer material properties. She reached PhD in polymer chemistry. Since 1991 she has been working at the Strategic Development Department of Chemosvit. She is responsible for strategic marketing and knowledge management in HQ. She is a member of the Programme Committee of international conference Inforum in Prague, where she coordinates the session Management of Information and knowledge in Business Environment. She gives lectures on strategic marketing, international economic relationship and information management at the Catholic University as an external teacher. She presented on several conferences in Prague, London, Moscow, Warszaw, Guangzhou, Brussels.... She is the author of more than 120 original papers, journal articles, patents, etc.
