Abstract:

National Medical Library, Prague (NML) has recently implemented a new ERM system by SerialsSolutions. The system consists of administrative interface and e-journal portal. Basic user features of the portal are A-to-Z title list, title searching and subject browsing. The portal is interconnected with Medvik catalogue that full text availability information with direct links appears dynamically in Medvik journal record display. NML plans to create customized design of the portal to improve user navigation and visual experience. Portal currently maps licensed databases and titles as well as of freely accessible resources so portal content is not limited only to NML registered users. Links to licensed resources are redirected to HAN system which provides remote access for registered users. Lists of other mainly bibliographic databases and available e-books have been added to the main portal webpage. More single titles and Czech and Slovak resources are to be added. NML operated union catalogue holdings will be included that the portal grows into the complete resource of information on biomedical journal and related fields’ journal availability in Czech Republic.
