Autor: Hugh Blackbourn, Nature Publishing Group, United Kingdom
Nature Publishing Group’s portfolio includes Nature, Nature Research Journals, Nature Reviews Journals, Nature Clinical Practice and NPG academic journals. By focusing on excellence in scientific research, journals such as Nature Medicine and Nature Reviews Cancer have established a reputation for filtering, synthesizing and clarifying important advances across the biological and medical sciences. The development of Web 2.0 concepts and tools has also opened up new channels for scientific communication. In response, NPG has developed services to help readers navigate to key scientific papers and created online networks to allow commenting and discussion of important aspects of research.
This presentation will include a description of NPG’s journals and products and aim to demonstrate how these new resources can further improve science communication.
Hugh Blackbourn is the Publisher for Nature Reviews Journals and Nature Protocols. Having worked for ten years as a research scientist, he holds a BSc, MSc and PhD in biological sciences. Since entering publishing he has held a variety of positions including Editor, Managing Editor and Content Development Manager and holds an MBA.
