Abstract:

The Czech Digital Manuscriptorium Library will become a European one thanks to the EU ENRICH project. The paper describes the aims and methods of building such an international digital library. The Manuscriptorium environment will be adapted both to needs of user specialists and contributing partners. The beginners will get an opportunity to have their own virtual digital library and, in parallel, to be a part of a rich international library. The project cares also about the multilingual environment. Among others, he is member of the High Level Expert Group on Digital Libraries of the European Commission.

Adolf Knoll is director for science, research, and international coooperation of the Czech National Library. Since the middle of 1990s he has been resposnsible (and/or participating in) many national and international projects.

Stanislav Psohlavec - director of the AIP Beroun Comp. Ltd., which - in cooperation with the Czech National Library - has developed Manuscriptorium. He has had the crucial impact on the successful development of the whole programme.
