The MediGrid project, that was introduced during the last conference, is aimed at developing an application system for distributed processing of medical algorithms, data sharing and analysis, based on Grid technology. Its part is also a Documentation service (DS) that primarily serves for unambiguous description of individual system components and as a proof of their credibility. At the same time it is a mean of scientific communication between individual specialists, a unique collection of scientific documents, that are related to the field of medical alhorithms, and available to wide public and also an evidence in evidence based medicine. As such MediGrid contains applications for documentation publishing in XML format. To facilitate orientation and searching within Documentation service, a dynamic „ad-hoc“ ontology, that represents entities currently existing in MediGrid (mainly modules and so called indicator classes)and their relationships, is generated from its parts. Citations of relevant sources that form an integral part of documentation allow verification of its content and connect the DS with external information sources and services.
Adela Jarolimkova, graduated from the Institute for Information Studies and Librarianship, Charles University Prague, since 2005 participates on the MediGrid project.
