Abstract: |
Web-based courses supporting information literacy at universities - that is the
trend of last years. The courses contribute to independent learning of students and also to lifelong learning. This
presentation describes types of such courses and introduces the example from Czech Technical University.

Head librarian of Central Library of Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Czech
Technical University in Prague. She concentrates on user education and information literacy from early 90's: 1993 stay
at King’s College London, 1995 teaching (currently 2 courses in curricula), 2000 setting up and leadership of working
group for user education and information literacy at universities which became 2002 a committee of Association of
University Libraries, Czech Republic.
