Building a Digital Future at Cornell - Cornell Law Library Projects and
Initiatives |
Sasha Skenderija, Cornell Law Library; USA
|
- Digital conversion of analog holdings. Example: Dovovan's Nuremberg Trials Archive.
- InSITE. A current awareness service. An interesting technology as well as content, library reaching out proactively to
public.
- HeinOnline. (project of digital preservation and online access to retrospective legal materials). An example of
collaboration among Cornell Law Library (in a good role that suits it, that is, advising on the layout, organization of
information, etc.), Cornell Information Technology Dept., and the commercial publisher. Way of the future as an economic
model because it addresses the money issue (rather than black hole of library trying to finance it).
- Mirror sites - one possible way to approach and realize the archiving of digital born information, and ensure long term
access to digital information.
- LEDA (Legal Electronic Document Archive) a Harvard and Cornell Law Libraries colaborative project.
- Cornell Library Gateway - an example of an academic integrated virtual library, with free and commercial online sources
etc.
