CASLIN Union Catalogue is open to all libraries, which are able and willing to
follow the agreed standards. The CUBUS tailor made system using the ORACLE database system has been used since 2000 for the CASLIN
Union Catalogue. CUBUS system brought substantial improvements such as better administration, much faster process of import of
records, a new automatic UNIMARC test, a new and more efficient test to detect duplicities, tool for shared cataloguing and
interlibrary services. Those libraries, which are active in contributing their own records to the Union Catalogue (active
participants) can download the records from the Union Catalogue and create new Union Catalogue records from distance directly inside
the catalogue itself (on-line cataloguing). The preparatory steps were done to use a union database of national authorities in the
Union Catalogue. The Union Catalogue is accessible in a user-friendly application interface at URL: http://www.caslin.cz.
