ASP in the information institutions
Martin Vlček, Amaio Technologies; Pavel Kocourek, INCAD
There was a survey made by the top software application suppliers which found out what were the differences between the
demands
on information system in a large and medium sized enterprises. It revealed that there were nearly no differences. The only
real
difference was the amount of money available to the respective segments for purchasing and servising the appropriate
system.
Libraries, archives, museums, etc are found in a similar situation. Their respective demands differ by the data capacity,
nowadays
almost nonsignificant, but there are no dissimilarities in data security, data structure complexity, application
variability, etc. And
particularly there are differences in their disposable finance resources.
ASP model gives the institutions, no matter how big they are and from which sector they come, access to the top knowledge
systems.
