Changing Role of Information in the "New Economy" - External Resources of Information

Current market environment, which is formed by the expansion and application of new technologies, particularly informational
and
communicational, is often characterised as "information economy", "digital economy", or "network economy". On these new
specific conditions, the management's decisions in ICT-sphere have the essential importance for company's ability to compete
and
the further development.This paper discusses chosen aspects of external resources of information and especially their impact
on
the business decision-making process. Natural information and resources of information are unfortunately overshadowed by
phenomenon ICT at present. Peter Drucker gives a true picture of this trend in his book Management Challenges for the 21st
Century: "From technology to information in information's technologies". I focus closely in trends of using of external
resources
of information, consequent on lose some manager's process and methods their original signification. Managers, who are well
aware
of the above-mentioned changes in business environment, are aimed at rate's increase in using of external resources of
information considering internal. Recounted situation and signed trends in using of external resources of information are
evidenced by the data obtained from performed research.
